​EMDR Certification COnsulTaTion

EMDR Certification Consultation can help clinicians better understand when to use EMDR and how to include it in their existing practices. You can pursue becoming a Certified EMDR Therapist after completing EMDRIA approved basic training training courses and consultation hours. ​I provide EMDR trained clinicians opportunities to develop their EMDR skills, improve application of the 8 stage protocol, and become Certified EMDR Therapists.
Individual and group EMDR Certification Consultation sessions are available, in person and virtually.
​I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant in Training (CIT) for the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), with Advance Protocol training in addictions, dissociation, and complex trauma. As a CIT, I consult and work with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant to provide certification training.​​


​EMDR CERTIFICATION RQUIREMENTS

To become EMDRIA Certified, a clinican must:
  • Be licensed or certified in a mental health professional field for independent practice with a minimum of two years experience. A photocopy of your license/certification/registration to practice independently is required.
  • Complete an EMDRIA approved basic training program in EMDR therapy and 10 consultation sessions.  A copy of your certificate of completion is required with your Certification application.
  • Conduct at least 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 clients.
  • Attach notarized documentation supporting the following statements: (1) You have at least two years experience in your field of license/certification/registration, (2) You conducted at least 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 clients.
  • Receive 20 hours of Certification Consultation in EMDR by an Approved Consultant (15 hours can be provided by a EMDR Consultant in Training.) These must be 10 hours of Individual Certification Consultation and 10 hours of Group Certification Consultation. 
  • Complete 12 hours of continuing education in EMDR approved by EMDRIA.
  • Attach letter(s) of recommendation from one or more Approved Consultant(s) in EMDR regarding your utilization of EMDR with clients.
  • Attach two letters of recommendation regarding your professional utilization of EMDR (if possible), ethics in practice, and professional character. These can be obtained from colleagues or peers.
  • Verify the EMDRIA’s Policies. Applicants must read and verify on the application form that they agree to adhere to EMDRIA’s Policies.
